Objective 2
Objective 2: Create and implement game elements, systems, and play mechanics using industry standard tools, techniques, and production methods, including both art and scripting/programming applications.
I remade the brick tile for my 2D vector platform game. I followed the constraints and color schemes and both brick tiles look the same | This is the background image I used for the 2D pixel maze game. The brick tiles, column, and character were all made and complied in Photoshop. The game was made using Game Maker Studio. | This is Lloyd Tenso, the character used for my 2D vector platform game. This character was made using Photoshop |

This character is Stans, the 2D pixel character used for my 2D pixel maze game. This character was made using Photoshop | This is a normal brick tile. The art style of this brick tile is pixel art. This brick tile was made using Photoshop. The creative process behind this tile is that any decal can be added on this brick. Blood, Slime, Cracks, or Blast Marks. | This is the column the player must touch to end the game. The column was made using the 2D pixel art style made in Photoshop. The creative process when making this is I created a basic column. The vines on the column are a decal. Other decals can be made using the base column. |
This is the same 2D pixel art brick tile, but with a water decal added to it. This was made using Photoshop. | This is the running animation for the character Stans. When the player moves this is the running animation the player will see when moving. The art style used is 2D pixel art and the animation is seven frames. | This is the running animation used for the 2D vector platform game. The character running is Lloyd Tensho, and this was made using Photoshop. This animation is seven frames |
This is a 2D vector back ground for the 2D vector platformer I made using Game Maker Studio. This image is called "Toshi Academy decals" because the clock, cloudy sky, road, windows, and trees are all decals to make the school stand out. |
I have completed this objective by creating two levels using Game Maker Studio. The level is called “Maze Game”, and it's a 2D pixel art game. The goal is for the player to reach the goal without touching the walls. If the player touches the wall the level will start over. The second level is a 2D vector art game called "Platforms" where the player must jump from platform to platform and touch the goal to win. I have created all of the art assets and scripted all of the movement for both games. For programming I used Game Maker’s character controller for the 2D pixel art game so that when the player touches the wall they restart. I have done the same for the 2D vector art game. Posted above are the sprites I have created and impleneted in each game.
